March 1, 2002: Something to look at while you wait for the comic for real. On February 22, animator Chuck Jones died of congestive heart failure. He was 89. He was also a favorite of mine, inasmuch as I am able to distinguish animation styles, I can tell his from a mile off. He influenced my life. I took his death very hard, and when I heard there was going to be a Chuck Jones Memorial Project, I leaped at the chance to participate. So hats off, and hand over the heart to you, Chuck. Thanks for waiting until we had Jhonen Vasquez, Craig McCracken, and Genndy Tartakovsky before you headed for Toon Heaven. I'll miss you.   |
